Halacha - Nine days. Help!
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh

The Halacha is that you may go ahead and buy it. However, R' Shlomo Zalman Auerbach zatzal once pointed out when asked a similar question that no one would ever ask such a question when sitting shiva for a parent, which in Halacha would be equivalent. Putting it in that perspective really illustrates that we don't truly feel the mourning the way we should. I'm not advising you to wait on the computer, just pointing out that we all need a little introspection regarding our attitude towards the churban.
