Post Ne'ila Let Down? No Way!
Ne'ila is over the gates are locked.  Elul is history.  Aseres Yimei Tshuva when Hashem is most accessible and eager to help us has passed. The King has gone back home. Is this a let down?

Maybe we can explain with a Mashal.  In the great kingdom, the exceptional son of the most important minister and confidant to the King had suddenly gone astray.  At first he was acting up in his home but then it came to a point we he left home and went out to live in the forest.  There he spent his days wandering around with the animals.  He didn't clean himself an he barely ate.  After a few months of near starvation and unsanitary conditions he was on the verge of death.  His father was despondent.  A few months ago his son was a special child with a bright future in the Kingdom, and now he was acting subhuman and near death.

Seeing the grief of his trusted minister the King decided he will personally go bring the boy back.  The King goes out to the forest and speaks words that penetrate the boy's heart.  He promises him an important position if he returns.  The boy agrees that he must come back, however it seems like it may be too late as he stands on the verge of death.  The King personally stays there and nurses him back to health.  During these few weeks with the King tending to him 24 hours a day, the King and the boy become very close. The boy is finally restored to good health both physically and emotionally.  They have an emotional good bye and the boy starts hisprestigious job.

Is the boy sad that he is no longer with the King?  No. He is now back on his feet and he can serve the king in an honorable way.  Moreover he will have plenty of opportunity to see the King at important functions, the first one being the party thrown in honor of his return.  The time he spent with the King was indeed very special, but not under the nicest circumstances.  He was sick, he was depressed, and he was embarrassingly filthy.

We spent quality time with Hashem recently.  We were sick and dirty with the aveiros we accumulated over the year.  We were near death as the world and our Neshamos were exploding with aveiros.  Hashem tended to us because we are the children of hisprecious ministers, Avrohom, Yitzchok, and Yaakov.  He encouraged us and he promised us a bright future if we return.  With his own hands, kviyachol , he cleaned us up.  We are now restored back to good health and ready to continue the great career we were headed on before being derailed by theYetzer Hara.  Will the King be tending to us like he did until now?  No, he doesn't have to.  Instead we will be busy doing his service and building a relationship based onachievement and love.

We will have many opportunities to spend quality time with Hashem.  In fact tonight, just one day after our emotional departure, Hashem will grace our homes with His presence for Shabbos!  Next week we will be invited to a week long celebration in honor of our return, in his palace, theSuccah!

The meaning and quality of our relationship  with Hashem has been raised due to our return to much higher level.   Keep yourself clean and this year continue going higher and higher, you are going to be a star!
