Tehilim Perek 30: Rav Shamshon Refoel Hirsch: Shining Like the Keruvim
The Perek starts off with Dovid composing a song for the future inauguration of the Bais HaMikdash that will ultimately be built by Shlomo HaMelech. But the pasukim that follow launch into expressions of life's experiences and the salvation and success that Hashem granted him. What is the connection asks Rav Shamshon Refoel Hirsch?
Rav Hirsch compares the Bais HaMikdash to a Bayis Yehudi. It is a place where heaven meets earth, where a Yehudi meets his Creator, right down here on earth. A real marvel! The Bais HaMikdash was a point where Ruchniyos met Gashmiyos. The light of the Menora met the bread of the Shulchan. The Torah lay in an Aron. The sculpted images of the Keruvim were the resting place of the Shechina!
If we believe that a human made of flesh and blood has the ability to connect with Hashem who is Ein Sof, and we create a home worthy of this incomprehensible meeting between man and Hashem, it will happen. Then our own faces will be like the Keruvim reflecting Hashem's radiance resting upon it. Then our life experiences will be different. Our lives will be a continuous song of Yeshua, Hatzala, and Hatzlacha.
