When Bnei Yisroel arrived at Har Sinai the Torah says, "Vayichan Sham Yisroel Neged HaHar" (Yisro 19:2). Rashi says the Torah uses the singular term for encamped because there was total achdus, "K'Ish Echad B'Lev Echad". From here says Rav Meir Shapiro we see the Torah's marvelous power to unite in Achdus.
The world was created from the Torah that was used as a blueprint. Achdus is something we find in the creation of Adam. The gemara (Sanhedrin 38b) tells us that the earth that was used to create Adam came from all over the world. His body was from Bavel, his head from Eretz Yisroel, and his limbs from the other countries. He encapsulated the attributes of all the lands and they were united in mankind.
Similarly points out Rav Meir Shapiro, our gemara maintains this same international flavor. The Mishna at the top of a sugya(a talmudik discussion) is authored by Rebbi Yehuda HaNasi who composed it in Eretz Yisroel. The gemara found below is from Bavel. To the right and left are Rashi from Germany and Tosfos from France. Around them are Meforshim that came from other lands.
While to us, people and events all appear fragmented and disconnected, at Har Sinai the truth was revealed. The Torah and the whole Bri'a echoed these most important words, "Hashem Echad".
