Halacha - Electric Blankets on Shabbos
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question: Can one use an electric blanket on Shabbos? It is extremely unlikely that it would get disconnected. It cannot be muktza because it's letzorech gufo. The only doubt I have is if one flips or bends the blanket a bit that the elemets in the blanket would get 'disturbed' and stop the electric flow for reaching the end of the element/wire. But if that is done unintentionally, it's davar sheEyno miskaven, no? Thanks very much.

Reb Moshe Feinstein zatzal permitted using an electric blanket on Shabbos, provided that any knobs for adjusting the temperature were covered.
