Halacha - Minyan
Submitted by Noach  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question:
Answer:

If all ten men are in the same room they do not need to be within line of sight nor is there any restriction on their distance, however there is a minority opinion that there should not be more then 4 amos, 6 feet, between men. Though they need not hear each other, they should be able to hear the chazan, and therefore it is problematic counting a deaf person towards a minyan. Video conference would not help, because the people are not together in the same place.
