If you are refering to the round burners that the flame comes out from, it is satisfactory to clean them well and turn on the burner to the highest setting for 5-10 minutes. If you mean the the grate on which the pot rests, they should be replaced with a separate Pesach set or at least covered with heavy duty alumunium foil.

If you have a self cleaning oven, then you may rely on placing either of the above inside for a full self-clean cycle, but a regular oven is not suficient.
