Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rabbi Shaul Rosenberg
Question: do tzadikim's body stay whole when they die? if yes, then how come it says when moshe rabeinu threw the stone with Hashem's name on it Yosef's BONES rose up? what happen to his body? did it stay whole?
Answer: Although you are right that the bodies of the righteous do not decay, the Shach explains , that Yosef specifically asked that his flesh should decay as an atonement for indulging in the pleasures of this world - when he curled his hair when he was younger and his indulgence while he was viceroy of Egypt.
