Halacha - megilat Ester by phone
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question: In case one's wife cannot attend the evening reading of the 'megilah' as she is out of town but is likely to return home and attend the morning 'keriah'. should the husband read it to her in the evening by telephone? If yes, who is to say blessings, before and after the reading?
Answer: One may not fulfill the obligation to hear Megilla over the telephone. If she returns home before daybreak, her husband should read it for her then in person.
