Halacha - bananas
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Answer: The banana plant is not a tree botanically nor halachically. According to Halacha a tree needs a woody trunk and for the fruit to develop of perennial branches that protrude from a trunk. Bananas do not meet these qualifications.
