Halacha - Bracha for bANANAS
Submitted by BatMordecai  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh

Ha'Adama. Even though they seem to grow on a tree, Halacha does NOT consider the plant to be a tree because it does not have a woody trunk, the trunk dies down each year and only bears fruit once, and because the fruit grow from the trunk and not the branches. Furthermore, scientifically the banana is also not a true tree but largest herbaceous flowering plant.
