Halacha - Question on halacha
Submitted by Maksim  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question: I was wandering if as a Kohen I am allowed to marry a daughter whose mother converted prior to her birth through Conservative Judaism? The lady in question keeps Shabbat fully, keeps kosher, teaches at Hebrew School, and dated only Jewish men. She had a Bat Mitzvah, was confirmed from her Temple. She is still Conservative as there is nothing more religious. She has never been divorced and herself is not a convert. What should I do?
Answer: This is a very serious question that depends on many important details and does not lend itself to a simple, impersonal answer over the net. I strongly suggest you ask a Rabbi with specific experience in the areas of conversion and personal status. Seeing that you live in Baltimore, I would suggest contacting HaRav Moshe Heinneman of the Agudah Shul.
