Halacha - antibiotic on a fast
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question: Is it permissible to take a pill (such as a antibiotic) with a drop of water on a taanis? Thank you.
Answer: An antibiotic, which could lead to a potentially dangerous relapse of resistant infection by missing a day, may certainly be taken on a taanis. One may also use a small amount of water, if necessary, but it is preferable to add a little lemon juice or vinegar to render the water unpalatable.
