Halacha - lightening without thunder
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh

Yes, you should say a beracha on the lightning by itself if you are certain that they come from rainclouds. Generally two separate berachos are said on thunder and lightning, but many wait to say the beracha on lightning out of concern it may by "heat lightning" and not true lightning.
