Purim: Rav Vosner - Can A Misnaged Wear A Shtreimel For Davening On Purim?
On Purim even adult often dress up. For example a Litvak may wear a Shtreimel if the purim spirit grabs him. The Halacha clearly states (OC 91) that you must daven like you would appear before important people. Rav Vosner was asked (Shevet HaLevi 10:18:1) if it is permitted to daven Mincha or Maariv wearing a Purim get up?
Rav Vosner answered that the exterior garments are not what we are concerned about. Standing in front of important people means your demeanor and attitude in the way you stand before the King of all kings. In this case if you are davening with respect and seriousness Lfi Halacha, and you are even covered K'Halacha, it doesn't make a difference what kind of hat or clothing you are wearing.
