Showering On A Ta'anis
The Shulchan Aruch paskens (OC 550:2) that on the four fasts, excluding Tisha B'Av and Yom Kippur, the only thing forbidden is eating and drinking.  The Mishna Brura says that a Ba'al Nefesh, a lofty spirit, should also refrain from all the things that are prohibited on Tisha B'Av, with the exception of not wearing shoes.

The Shaar HaTziyun brings the Elya Rabba in the name of the Shela HaKadosh who says that a Ba'al Nefesh should be machmir even the night of the ta'anis. The Piskei Tshuvos says that the Shela even recommended not eating or drinking on the night of the Taanis.  However he says, we are not noheg to be machmir not to eat at night.  He also brings the Mishna Brura (565:9) who says that we should take on all the halachos of the ta'anis at night, with the exception of fasting.

The Piskei Tshuvos further says that the Pri Megadim permitted bathing in cold water or washing your hands and feet in hot water.  He also adds that going to the Mikva in the morning, for those who do so, is permitted even in hot water. Similarly a women who will go to the mikva after the ta'anis, may make all her preparations and clean herself on the ta'anis.

Important Note: We try to convey the Tshuva to the best of ourability. We admit that our understanding may not be accurate. Pleasealso understand that this Tshuva may not be the final word on thistopic. One should consult a Rav before drawing any conclusions.
