Rav Shlomo of Karlin Lights A Neshama
Rav Shlomo of Karlin used to recite Tehillim after hadlakas neiros on Chanukah.  A man who was plagued with doubts in emunah was very distressed about it, and turned to one of the tzaddikim of the generation.  The tzaddik sent him to the Rebbe of Karlin during hadlakas neiros of Chanukah.

The man traveled to the Rebbe and observed him as he lit the neiros and recited Tehillim.  When R’ Shlomo reached the possuk, “And he saved us from our tormentors, because His kindness is everlasting,” he paused.  He approached the man, tapped him on the shoulder and asked him, “Do you believe that Hakadosh Boruch Hu can save you and redeem you from all of your afflictions?”  At that moment, the man felt relieved from his doubts, and felt like a new person.  The kedusha of the Chanukah lights had purified his neshama.    (Marveh Letzamah)
